Unfolding

Unfolding series 21×35” graphite and colored pencil on drafting film, 2020

In this series, I address the part-and-whole dynamic on various levels. The separate yet interdependent sections form as a result of color shifts or hard edges. However, the differences between these larger parts dissolve up close with recognition that the entire piece is created with the repetition of the same basic unifying mark (the only difference being the color in which the mark is created).
